My husband and I originally weren’t planning on hiring an immigration attorney because our case was relatively simple, but I sure am glad we changed our minds. After gathering the 5+ packages of forms and reading the long pages of questions, I realized how confusing this process was going to be and how unsure I was that I was even filling out the forms properly. The instructions were often unclear and I was terrified that we’d lose our almost $2000 application fee because we missed an important document or didn’t fill out a form correctly. I can’t imagine what someone with a more complex case would have to deal with. The peace of mind Jacob gave us was such a relief after months of stressing over forms and confusing information online.
Jacob Shillig has a great system that made the application process incredibly simple and easy for us. All we had to do was fill out a short questionnaire and he took care of the rest, letting us know exactly what information or documents we needed to send him and what our next steps were. Whenever we had questions, he would usually respond within a day. He even took care of all communications with USCIS for us. It seemed like he had a lot of experience with the immigration process, as he had us do specific things that he knew would make our application stronger. It was so nice knowing that Jacob had a handle on the whole process and we didn’t have to worry about getting caught off guard by all of the things we had to do in order to progress the application.
Business aside, Jacob is a great person to work with! He’s incredibly friendly and caring, and made us feel like he was personally invested in our case. This was a stark contrast to the other attorneys we consulted with before, who made us feel like we were just clients to them.
